چکیده

Keeping water eco-environment health and virtuous circle of lake-wetland, and letting lakes recuperate and reproduce has become a common view all over the world. Although a great deal of research results were obtained, such as lake-wetland ecosystem management and eco-hydrological mechanism of eco-environment evolution, there are few researches about comprehensive analysis on evolution trend and driven mechanism of lake-wetland water eco-environment. Baiyangdian, the biggest grass-type lake-wetland in North China, was chosen as the research object in this paper. Based on the long-term and field observations of water environmental quality and analysis for remote sensing images of water ecological landscape pattern, the evolution trend and driving mechanism for water eco-environment of Baiyangdian in the past 60 years have been studied systematically. The results showed that the average annual water level fluctuated greatly with a decreasing tendency as a whole. During 1974 and 2007, there was a general pattern of land use types, which the emergent plants, water body and cultivated land were the main, and the residential area, forest land, grass land and unused land were distributed as flower arrangement state. During the periods, the water body and emergent plants areas were decreased respectively by 28.7% and 20.8%, while the cultivated land areas were increased by 69.7%. The main pollutants (NH4+-N, CODMn, BOD5, TP, and TN) concentrations in Baiyangdian Lake were changed greatly with spatiotemporal variation and the pollutant concentrations were increased obviously. In the three polluted regions (north zone, south zone, and * To whom correspondence should be addressed.

Reconstruction environmental changes of Maharlou Lake in Holocene

Extended Abstract: 1-Introduction There is a direct relationship in evaporative deposit with the changes in the depth of the lake. Therefore?, valuable information is gained regarding the causation of changes in environment over time. Evaporite minerals formation is a natural phenomenon accruing in water-bodies containing deferent mineral Since sulfate is abundant in seawater and saline lakes...

A shallow lake remediation regime with Phragmites australis: Incorporating nutrient removal and water evapotranspiration.

Shallow lake eutrophication has been an important issue of global water environment. Based on the simulation and field sampling experiments in Baiyangdian Lake, the largest shallow lake in North China, this study proposed a shallow lake remediation regime with Phragmites australis (reed) incorporating its opposite effects of nutrient removal and water evapotranspiration on water quality. The re...

Formation of a deep pit lake: case study of Aguas Claras, Brazil

The paper presents the case study of the current formation of a Brazilian pit lake from an iron ore mining activity. The water used for the filling of the lake comes from rain, ground water and the complementary pumpage from a close river. At its final stage, which will be reached around year 2018, Lake Aguas Claras will have a surface area of 0.67 km2 and the depth of 234 m, which will make it...

Occurrence and abundance of ammonia‐oxidizing archaea and bacteria from the surface to below the water table, in deep soil, and their contributions to nitrification

Using molecular biology methods (qualitative and quantitative PCR), we determined the occurrence and abundance of ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA) and ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB) from a dry inland soil in Basel, Switzerland, and from the riparian zone of Baiyangdian Lake, China. We also determined the contributions of these microorganisms to ammonia oxidization at different depths based on ...

Recovery of sequences and extent of ancient lake in Jazmourian Playa based on lake terraces in Quaternary

Extended abstract 1-Introduction The natural environment is affected by climate, and its changes have different geomorphic forms. The dominance of different climatic phases and changes in the balance of matter and energy cause different shaping systems in the environment. Ancient lakes are one of the geomorphic forms of the Quaternary period, and today many of these lakes are either complete...
